Recreating the Kiss

Roles: Camera operator, Creative

For the first time outside of Europe, Auguste Rodin's ‘The Kiss’ (1901-1904)is being exhibited as part of Nude: art from the Tate collection at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney.

To investigate the power of nudity in art today – and the way the naked form forces us to re-evaluate our own bodies - seven Sydney couples volunteered to recreate the famous pose.

Each couple was scanned using high resolution imaging equipment and then printed as a 3d sculpture.

The experience had a surprising effect on all the participants - inspiring each of them to see the original work and their own relationship in a new light.
